He was predeceased by: his parents, Jarrett Peters and Alice Peters (Isom); and his siblings, Calvin Peters, Louie Peters, Patricia Neece and Karen Pierce.

He is survived by: his wife Anita Ross of Winfield; his daughter Terri Townsend (Greg) of Moweaqua, Illinois; his grandchildren, Collin Townsend (Lauren) of Assumption and Rachel Townsend of Glen Carbon, Illinois; his great grandchildren, Greenleigh and Crew Townsend; and his sisters, Sharon Mapel of Columbus Junction and Sadie Gevock of Washington.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Twin Lakes Country Club in memory of Dan.
