She was predeceased by: her mother Mary Jane Bush (Benda); her in-laws, Mike and Martha Carlson; and her siblings-in-law, John Carlson and Renate Carlson.
She is survived by: her mother Lane Douglas of Fairfield; her husband Jim of Winfield; her children, Nathan Carlson (Deb) of North Liberty, Allyson McCarty (Scott) of Winfield and Melanie Hart (Andrew) of Indianola; her grandchildren, Dempsey Carlson, Harlynn Carlson, Emersyn McCarty, Jude Hart, Jonah Hart and Ezra Hart; her sisters, Jolaine Coop (Steve) of Brighton, Chris Bright (Paul) of Norwalk, Karla Rebling (Russell) of Brighton and Terri Smith (Randy) of Davenport; and her brother-in-law Jeff Carlson of Mt. Vernon. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM at the Twin Lakes Golf & Country Club (407 N Clark St, Winfield, IA 52659).
A memorial fund has been established in Colleen's name.
