She was predeceased by : her parents, James Humphrey and Marie Humphrey (Tieman); and her siblings, Allen, Loren Humphrey, Frances Johnsen and Lou Barrick.

She is survived by : her husband Walter Hatton of Winfield; and her children, Kymm McIntosh (Kirt) of Falcon, CO and Kurt Hatton (Danean) of Cedar Rapids.

A memorial has been established for the First Presbyterian Church in Winfield in Shirley's name.
