It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bill Smith of Winterset, Iowa, who passed away on July 9, 2025, at the age of 63, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the vast expanse of eternity, may Bill find peace everlasting, cradled in the gentle embrace of the universe. And as we stand on the shores of remembrance, may his legacy inspire us to live each day with purpose, passion, and profound gratitude for the gift of life itself.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Robert and Jeanette; his wife Mary "Claire" Smith; his sons, Lance Smith (Nicole Labos) and LJ Smith (Christine Dela Cruz); his siblings, Robert Frand, David Allen and Laurie Catherine Hawkins; and his siblings' children, Austin Smith, Nelson Davis Acuff and Sarah Catherine Acuff. He was also cherished by relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Calendar Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home - Winterset Chapel (1823 N John Wayne Dr, Winterset, IA 50273). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Calendar Faith Lutheran Church (815 S 2nd Ave, Winterset, IA 50273).
