He is survived by: his children, Carl Alvin Barr III (LaRay) and Jeannie Connolly (Steve); his grandchildren, Mariah Soto (Andrew), Joseph Campbell (Loralie) and Jaxzen Connolly; his great grandchild Beckett Soto; and his siblings, Mary Jane Correll, Jerry Barr (Barbara) and Alan Barr (Kim). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the McLaren's Resthaven Chapel (801 19th St, West Des Moines, IA 50265). A committal service will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Resthaven Cemetery (801 19th St, West Des Moines, IA 50265).
