He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Koehler and Irene Koehler (Johnstone); his parents-in-law, Keith Lininger and Twilla Lininger; and his son Colton Kenneth Lininger.

He is survived by: his wife Quita Koehler (Lininger); his children, Denise Franklin (Craig), Kelle Blunck and Daniel Koehler; his grandchildren, Joseph Franklin (Veronica), Codie Gliem, Adley Koehler, Mary Lininger, Sadie Hawkinson, Donovan Koehler, Gabby Harvey, Emma Gallagher and Mabel Gallagher; and his great grandchildren, Blake, Lily, McKinlee, Aurora and Theodore.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to be directed at a later date.

“Quita, I wanted to let you know that I am thinking about you during this sad time. I didn't realize that Dave had Parkinson's disease. My husband Dean also does and has been in a nursing home the past two years. His tremor started about two years after we moved to Norfolk NE and it is in his family. I think of you each time I make your Moscatelli salad and your three bean salad. They are the best. Judy Carlson passed away this year after a three week stint with liver cancer. Sharon Johnson”
