He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilma Carter (Travis) and Harold "Jack" Carter; his daughter Pamela J. Dickel; his brother Richard Carter; and his brother-in-law Reverend John Spradlin.
He is survived by: his wife Evelyn; his daughter Christi Carter; his granddaughter Kelley Reaper (Michael); his great grandchildren, Carter, Hunter, Caroline, Elizabeth, Alex, Kalvin and Evelyn; his sister Kathy Spradlin; and his son-in-law Gary Dickel. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
