Lynn Mangum Obituary

Lynn Mangum, 90 lifetime resident of Blackfoot, Idaho passed away Friday, June 2, 2023 in Blackfoot. Lynn was born in August 8, 1932 in Blackfoot. He is the son of Guy R and Blanche Moore Mangum.

Lynn grew up in Groveland where he worked on the family farm. He attended grade school at the Groveland Elementary School and later graduated from Blackfoot High School. After high school, Lynn joined the U.S Army and served during the Korean conflict with the 25th Division.

After his honorable discharge from the Army, Lynn married his sweetheart, Bonnie Thornberg in 1955. Their marriage was solemnized for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple. Together they had four kids.

Lynn worked for 39 years at the INL as a process operator. He also took over his dad's cow hauling business and ran it on the side. Lynn had a love for farm work.

Lynn was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a church farm supervisor in Riverton as well as a membership clerk for 8 years. Lynn is survived by his children, Lloyd (Teresa) Mangum of Moreland, Ronald (Tammy) Mangum of Alaska, and Barry (Becky Johnson) Mangum of Chubbuck; and his sister, Ruth Lords of Idaho Falls.

Lynn is preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie; his parents; his youngest son Blaine; and his siblings, Sharon Allman, Lee Mangum, and Dell Mangum. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday June 9, 2023 at Hawker Funeral Home in Blackfoot. Family will meet with friends and relatives Thursday June 8, 2023 at Hawker Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m and again one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

Interment will be in the Groveland Cemetery following the services.
