She was predeceased by: her parents, Sam Potts and Afton Potts; her daughters, Sue Ellen Hawks and Heidi Hawks; and her siblings, Robert Potts, Hazel Harris and Barbara Scoggins.

She is survived by: her siblings, Darlene Fraley (late Willie), Clifford Potts (Jeannie) and Jimmy Potts (Kayleen); her former husband Ellis Hawks; and her children, Krys Courtois (late Bruce), Ellis Hawks (Kristi), Lucinda Moebius (late Jefferey), Joseph Hawks (Kerry), Becca Hawks (Jeff Hawkins) and Katie Hobson (Michael). She is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 13 great and step-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to a favored charity, honoring her love for exploration, creativity, and family.
