He was predeceased by: his parents, Seth Calkins and Blanche Calkins; his sisters, Audrey, Grace and Blanche; his son Darren; his grandson Joshua; and his great grandchild Josiah.

He is survived by: his wife Connie Preston of Declo Idaho; his children, Debra, Dane (Nancy), Tamara (Scott), Serena (Craig), Stephanie (Bryan), Darrel (Melissa) and LaPreal (Barry); his brother Melvin (Janet); and also Floyd. He is also survived by 35 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter, including many foster grandchildren.
