He was predeceased by: his parents, Alden Hill and Marjorie Hill (Sargent); and his sisters, Debbie Hill Sheen and Sharlene Hill Durtschi. He is survived by: his wife Yaying Xu Hill; his son Yu Li Jiang; his aunt Colleen McGary; his nephew Justin Sheen; and his nieces, Katie Sheen Abbott, Holly Sheen Smith and Julie Sheen Pratt.
