He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Gorton and Angeline Gorton (Cusano); and his siblings, Helen Anson, Ralph Gorton, Jr. and Robert Gorton.
He is survived by: his children, Denise Patterson, Deborah Hobson and George R. Gorton, Jr.. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to charities for the visually impaired.
