Jay Arnold Green Obituary
Jay Arnold Green, 60, of Boise, Idaho lost his battle with cancer peacefully at home with his family on Saturday, September 4, 2021.
Jay was born September 22, 1960 to Donnie and Betty Green in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Being the middle child, he was always involved in pranks, “hunting expeditions”, and many adventures that drove his big brother, Jim, crazy and made his little sister, Joyce, his best friend and hero. While growing up in Iowa, he participated in choir, drama, jazz/pep band, and football, but this is where his love for baseball was formed. This passion continued to grow even after his family moved to Idaho in 1977.
After moving west, Jay met his first wife and was blessed with three daughters and a son. He enjoyed coaching his girls on the baseball field, taking them camping, fishing, shooting, and teaching them the thrill of watching lightning storms. More than anything he loved telling people about his girls. He was fortunate to remarry later in life and gained two stepsons with whom he also shared many adventures.
As a career man, Jay worked for many people and companies in his lifetime. He was always busy helping people with odd jobs when he could. However, his greatest job, if you asked him, was being a grandfather. He was proudest of his grandchildren and would often talk about them with any who asked about them.
Jay was preceded in death by his infant son, Jason Green, and brother, James Green. He is survived by parents Donnie and Betty Green, sister Joyce Green, daughters Michelle (Dan) Fabbi, Andrea Junier, Heather (Mike) Renk, stepsons Bob (Wkl) Edgerly, Dustin (Kendra) Edgerly, and grandchildren; Christian, Anthony, Jacob, Peter, Grayson, Rylee, Kahlynn, Dakota, Westley, Dylan, Trvyn, Ceryniti, and Tristan.
A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, September 22, 2021 in Middleton. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made in his name to the BSU Athletic Association, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
He was a friend to all and loved by many.
