He is survived by: his wife Katy Nance of Idaho; his children, Scott Nance (Norma) of Idaho, Steven Nance (Kymberly), Amanda Brown of Idaho and Candice Astleford (Nic Astleford) of Idaho; his grandchildren, Jennifer Nance Lopez, Jeremiah Nance, Christopher Nance, Ryan Nance, Lindsay Nance and Jaidyn Astleford; and his siblings, Jim Nance, JoAnn Dalto and Jeff Nance. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to organizations that John supported for many years including the Idaho Foodbank, Interfaith Sanctuary and Life's Kitchen.
