He was predeceased by: his parents, Violet Isaacson Obenchain and Artie Obenchain; his wife Rose Margaret Kafer of Rapid City; and his siblings, Madeleine Rath, Delight Brislain, Dan, Tom and Carl Obenchain.

He is survived by: his children, Sigrid Perrin (Carl) and Phillip, Jr.; his granddaughters, Melissa (Josh) and Kristin (Kyle); his great grandchild Betty; his siblings, Connie Dick, June Keithly and Ted Obenchain (Jessica); and his sister-in-law Virginia Obenchain. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
