“Roy and Patsy were the first people I met in Idaho Gem Club. We became friends and I spent alot of time visiting them over the past 15 years. His mind was sharp and memory solid especially for recalling rockhounding locations. Roy had a keen sense of humor, wisdom for life situations., patience and compassion, loyalty to Pat and family, knowledge to share and stories to tell. He was honest, humble and capable. I will miss the visits, and forever remember the things he taught me.”

“For a number of years when I was young, Roy and Pat Bethel were such good friends and neighbors in Council. My family - Dick and Marian Wright and kids - enjoyed them all. I recall many happy times with Pat and Roy and Tricia, David and Joyce. I totally lost touch with them, but recall one visit to the Bethel home in Boise where my husband and I were so impressed with their work with stones and jewelry.
