As we bid Lavona farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Lavona is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lavar Thornton and Lois Thornton; and her brother LaVal Thornton. She is survived by: her husband Mike Elam; and her children, Jodi Taylor (Lee), Willie Elam (Stephanie) and Criston Thornton. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, along with a host of extended family.
