He was predeceased by: his parents, Hyrum Rasmus and Loretta Bevins Nelson; his wife Theone Vandenakker; and his siblings, Douglas, Gilbert, Marvin and Venna.
He is survived by: his children, Lynn Nelson (Janice), Anita Shipley (Stan) and Leslie Anderson (Ric); and his sister Naomi Wilde. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
