He was predeceased by : his parents, Andrew Hoffman and Anna Hoffman; his son Don Hoffman; his siblings, Bernice, Ruth, Joyce, John and Andrew; and also Don.

He is survived by : his sons, Gary (Julie) and Michael Hoffman (Amanda); his former life partner Doris Haupert Hoffman; his grandsons, Kevin, Nick, Ryan and Benjamin Hoffman; and his siblings, Jeanette Austerman, Robert Hoffman (Diane) and Jim Hoffman (Judie).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be donated in Joe's memory to Orchard Ridge Senior Living.
