He was predeceased by: his parents, Adolph Balek and Georgia Balek of Brocket; and his son Jason Balek. He is survived by: his wife Jeanne Hanson; his children, Brady Balek (Kayla), Allison Balek (Clint) and Molly Waller; his son-in-law Ryan; and his grandchildren, Hadley, Teigan, Piper, Blayne, Ellie, Calvin and Jordan Balek.
