He is survived by : his wife Tracy Mathews (Amaral); his daughters, Darci (Brian Rice), Tawnie (Riley Swift), Jenna (Jared Snelson) and Cassidy (Harley Newhart); his grandchildren, Ashlyn, Jordan Rice, Finley, Sadie, Fallon Swift, Logan, Jaycee, Preston, Morgan Snelson and Haven Newhart; his mother Diana Mathews; his brother Dave Mathews; his sister-in-law Michelle Mathews; and his father Donald Mathews (Donny).

He enjoyed donating his time to the Church where he held numerous callings throughout the years.
