He was predeceased by: his father Jerry Clay. He is survived by: his mother Violet Clay of Weiser; his sisters, Peggy McCoy of Juneau and Bobbie; his brother-in-law Todd Redinius of Fairbanks; and his nephews, Mark (Elizabeth Redinius), Matt McCoy and Daniel McCoy.
A memorial fund is being established in his honor to benefit his community.
