“My name is Charlie Haag, I live in rural Oklahoma. I met Clyde in 1985 when I checked on board the Wm H Bates, Clyde was the Chief of the Boat, COB .He was in charge of the department I was in. For him, I scrubbed toilets, for him, I painted what needed it, for him, i drove the boat, for him, i "acquired" things that had to have been ours even though it was on a pallet in front of another sub. Clyde was my teacher, my leader, my mentor. Now, after hearing of his passing, for him, I mourn.”
