He is survived by: his wife Charlene Axley; his children, Richard Axley, Douglas E. Axley and Melanie Bement; and his sisters, Joan Arwood and Charlotte Borden. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
