He was predeceased by: his grandparents, John Louis Nelson and Charlotte Nelson; his parents, Leonard and Norma; his sister Lureeta McMurdie (David); and his brother-in-law Richard Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Layne Nelson (Kim) of Idaho Falls, ID, Ryan Nelson (Monique) of Phoenix, AZ, Carrie Royce (Daniel) of Idaho Falls, ID, Adrianne Tibbitts (Cortney) of Warrenton, OR and Mindy Berrett of Rarotonga; and his siblings, Mark Nelson (Susan) of Midvale, UT, Doug Nelson (Susan) of Idaho Falls, ID, Clint Nelson of Idaho Falls, ID, Lyle Nelson (Sherry) of Phoenix, AZ, Carolyn Smith of Idaho Falls, ID and Patrice Cullimore (Ron) of Kaysville, UT. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
