He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Leaf and Florence Leaf (Medboe); his daughter Jennifer Hansen; his sister Lynn Leaf Price; and his niece Gretchen Backstrom.

He is survived by: his wife Kay Leaf; his children, Katrina McPherson (Jamison Crump) of Denton and Daryl Leaf (Tiffany) of Ammon; his grandchildren, Joshua Gott (Brittany Tobin), Jeremy Gott of Idaho Falls, Julianna Hansen, Jakob Hansen of Shelley, Braden Leaf (Kristen Hardy) of Blackfoot, Kendan Leaf of Ammon, Madison McPherson and Nicole McPherson of Denton; his great grandchildren, Payton Tobin and Parker Tobin of Idaho Falls; his sister Lori Backstrom (Les) of Idaho Falls; his sons-in-law, Kyle Hansen of Shelley and Adam Gott of Pocatello; his sister-in-law Dee Ann Stanger of Logan; his brother John; and his sister-in-law Becky Novosel of Pocatello. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews plus numerous extended family.

A funeral service was held on Friday, August 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the New Day Lutheran Church (270 N Placer Ave, Idaho Falls, ID 83402).

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the New Day Lutheran Church or the local soup kitchen.
