He was predeceased by: his parents, Eva Guevarra Mateo and Eustacio Mateo, Sr.; and his siblings, Virgilio Mateo and Cynthia Parnala. He is survived by: his wife Lagrimas Mateo of Idaho Falls, ID; his children, Laddie Hendricks (Carwin) of Idaho Falls, ID, Reden Mateo (Katrina) of Singapore and Apple Mateo-Tan (Archim Tan) of Philippines; his siblings, Erlinda Serrano, Elizabeth Mateo, Ruby Torres, Christie Reyes (Einon) and Eustacio Mateo, Jr. (Erlina Mateo); and his grandchildren, Jake, Maya Hendricks (Laddie), Ziv and Ailani Mateo (Reden).
