We announce the death of Gary Cantral of Idaho Falls, Idaho, who passed away on September 2, 2026, at the age of 88. Gary will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Gary’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Neil Brooks Cantral and Esther Wyman Cantral; his sister Phyllis Stanger; his former wife Jane Cantral; and his wife Patti Cantral.
He is survived by: his sons, William Cantral (Chiyo) of Yakima, WA, Daniel Cantral (Michelle) of Hoquiam, WA and Charles Cantral of Albany, OR; and his sisters, Lois Butikofer of Idaho Falls, ID and Carol Spain (Russ) of Iona, ID. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Wood Funeral Home & Crematory - Ammon (963 S Ammon Rd, Ammon, ID 83406). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Wood Funeral Home East Side (963 S Ammon Rd, Ammon, ID 83406).
