He was predeceased by: his mother Opal Elizabeth Hayes; his brother Sonny Hayes; his nephew John Newman; his stepson Darren B. Holt; his mother-in-law Phyllis Madison; and his brother-in-law Veral Thorn.
He is survived by: his father Keith W. Hayes; his former spouse Shirley Adamson Gooden; his wife Janet Hayes of Idaho Falls, ID; his sons, Christopher Hayes (Maggie) and Nicholas Hayes (Candace); his stepchildren, Brian Jensen (Laura) and Susan Holt (Bob Burge); and his siblings, Patsy Sharp (Marvin), Arlene Newman (John) and John Hayes (Lisa). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to a local animal shelter or American Heart Association.
