He is survived by: his children, Christy Pinho (Tony) of Spring, TX, Mary Shurts of Portland, OR, Amy Shurts of Madison, WI, Jonathan Shurts (Brandy) of Idaho Falls, ID and Timothy Shurts of Idaho Falls, ID; and his sister Sandra Simon (Gary) of Albany, OR. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
