He was predeceased by: his parents, William James Barnes and Mabel Palmer Barnes; his wife Lucille Warner; his daughter Cheryl Prestidge; and his siblings, Lucy, Barbara, Deloy, Keith and Verdell.

He is survived by: his children, Jim Barnes (Pam) of Rigby, ID, Christine Babcock (Garth) of Cheney, WA and Melanie Ames Gonzales (Javier) of Idaho Falls, ID. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
