He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Schmier and Dora Veto Schmier (Street); his daughter Cynthia; and his siblings, Jake, Don and Wanda.
He is survived by: his wife Verlene; his sons, Bradley Schmier (Diana) and J. Douglas Schmier (Stacey); and his grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jacob, Kristine, Kevin, Melissa and Brian. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.
