Jerry Hovis Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jerry Hovis (Idaho Falls, Idaho), who passed away on January 16, 2026 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the sacred silence of farewell, Jerry is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Jerry's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Burton Luther Hovis and Nora Frances McGahan. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Hebdon; his friends, Jim Flamm, Merlin Larsen and Varsel Huntsman; and his children, Lisa Vargas (Michael) of Spirit Lake, Idaho, Jeff Hovis (Jan) of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Nanci Bradley (Richard) of Layton, Utah. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
