He was predeceased by: his parents, William Harlo Saunders and Mary Mangum Saunders; his wife Carol Ann Saunders (Jones); his siblings, Cecil, Harvey, David and Vinola; his son William "David" Saunders (Tammy); his grandson Jordan Saunders; and his great grandchild Ridge Bird.
He is survived by: his children, Melvin Jr. (Debi), Barbara (Marty) and Vickie (Lorin). He is also survived by children, Dad and Mom were blessed to have 19 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
