We are sad to announce that, on May 21, 2023, at the age of 87, Rita Carlson of Idaho Falls, Idaho, born in Oxford, Nebraska passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Chris Roth and Lelah Roth; her brother Paul Roth; and her brother-in-law Larry Lindstrom. She is survived by: her husband Harold; her daughters, Holly Carlson of Boise, ID and Heidi B. Carlson (Brent Vermeer); her granddaughter Sara Rankin of Boise, ID; her great grandchild Zoë Rankin of Boise, ID; and her sister Dorla "DeeDee" Lindstrom of Elm Creek, NE.

“She was a fine hostess and a close friend of Joanne Kelley. Her dinners were legendary. She shared nursing experiences with Joanne, having worked together when they were both younger. For a while they attended the same church together with their families. She and Joanne had a tradition of going out together on their birthdays as long as they were able and called each other frequently on the phone. Perhaps right now they are having a glad reunion as Joanne passed away on December 17, 2019.”
