He was predeceased by: his parents, William Francis Johnston and Catherine Christine Boch; his siblings, William Johnston Jr. and Donna Jones; his son Jake Johnston; his grandson Cory Peterson; and his great grandchild Van Peterson.
He is survived by: his wife Neatha Kay Johnston; his children, Roxanne and Travis Peterson (Tina); and his sisters, Betty Geyer, Elma Johnston and Rose Huntsman. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
