He was predeceased by : his parents, DeVerl Charles Whittington and Virginia Bunderson; and his son Kenneth DeVerl Whittington. He is survived by : his wife Andrea Parker Whittington; his children, David D Whittington (Telma) of South Ogden and Jennifer Petersen of Bountiful Utah; and his grandchildren, Parker Petersen (Olivia), Taylor Petersen (Desi), Chase Petersen, Annie Petersen and Erika Anglesey.
