She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Sila and Esther Sila (Otto); her husband Truman Morkert; her stepchild Trixy Marie Morkert; her stepmother Lillian Sila; her siblings, Lola Freeman and Larry Sila; her in-laws, Carroll and Vera Morkert; and her siblings-in-law, Judy Marohn (Mike) and Doug Morkert (Audrey).
She is survived by: her children, Gene Morkert (Kristin) of Meridian, Idaho, Melinda Oshel (John Bixenmann) of Columbus, NE and Kay McKay (Chad) of Osceola, NE; her grandson Brandon Shatto (Ashley) of Columbus, NE; her great grandchildren, Weston Shatto, RaeLynn Shatto and Mason Shatto; her grandchildren, Noah Nelson (Tasha) of Octavia, NE, Hunter Oshel of Columbus, NE, Hailey Oshel of Lincoln, NE, Madison and Makenzie Morkert of Meridian; her stepgrandchildren, Jack McKay of David City, NE and Brianna Keller (Josh) of Fort Worth, TX; and her siblings-in-law, Betty Sila of Papillion, NE and Dan Morkert (Gilda) of Underwood.
Visitation was held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Gass Haney Funeral Home (2109 14th St, Columbus, NE 68601). A graveside service was held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Schuyler Cemetery.
