He was predeceased by : his father Ronald Nickels. He is survived by : his mother Christie Nickels; and his brothers, Bryan Nickels (Robin) and Ernest Nickels (Delma). He is also survived by his nephew, nieces, uncle, aunts, and a multitude of cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Humane Society of the Palouse in Donald's memory, reflecting his compassion for animals and commitment to their well-being.
