He was predeceased by : his parents, Roscoe Norton and Wilma Norton; and his sisters, Kathy Bailey, Mona, Sandy Starcher and Martha Johnson.

He is survived by : his wife Bessie; his sisters, Vinnie Jorgenson and Holly Fields; and his children, Curtis Norton, Tedi Humphreys (Corey), Heidi Norton Starring and Teresa Norton. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Gay Wilson wrote a sympathy message

“I knew the town but not the address. I was thinking of him almost daily through Sept. I do that with certain people when things are not good. I miss his humor, kindness & his stories!!! I loved them. He, in my hear,t was my adopted grampa. So much like my own that I lost when I was 16. My world & yours is smaller & darker without him in it. I mourn his loss. Hope you are all well.
