He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Dean Pope and Rhoda Alice Pope (Winmill); his parents-in-law, William Stanley Tlucek and Emma Ceclia Tlucek (Sedlacek); his siblings, Jean Putnum (Clay) and William "Bill" Pope; and his siblings-in-law, Roy Hern, William Richard Tlucek, Ronald Eugene Ormsby and Lily May Archer (Tlucek).

He is survived by: his wife Janet Irene Tlucek of Nampa, Idaho.; his children, Wendy Howell (Gary VanHouten) of Caldwell, ID and Garry Pope Jr. of Kuna, ID; his siblings, Lois Hern of Hamilton, MT and Mike Pope (Laraine) of Blackfoot, ID; and his sister-in-law Rita Pope of Blackfoot, ID.. He is also survived by three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
