He was predeceased by: his parents, Forest William and Frankie Lee Sprague (Blount); his siblings, Billy Merle Sprague (Donna) and Helen Lee Simmons (Vic); and his siblings-in-law, Walter Adison, Opal Katherine McDowell (Davis), Betty Jean Cockburn (McDowell) and James Henry McDowell.
He is survived by: his daughters, Sharon Patricia (Brad) of North Pole and Debra Lynn; his wife Patricia Louise McDowell; his daughter Deb Compton (Shane) of Boise; and his grandchildren, Daniel Allen Kistle (Jhienelle) of Whitewater, Timothy Adam Kistle of Sequim, Kacie Lee-Katherine Simons (James) of North Pole and Kelly Ann Roberts (Mike) of Fairbanks. He is also survived by many great grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
