He was predeceased by: his parents, Tsunematsu "Tom" Onishi and Sue Okazaki Onishi; and his siblings, Sunny Onishi, Harry Onishi, Bobby Onishi, Susie Shigahara, Sumie Hata, Tomie Miya, Mary Ogawa, Dorothy Terao and Lillian Ishida.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Louise Onishi; his children, Darren Onishi (Katrina Black) of Paul, ID, Greg Onishi of Blackfoot, ID and Kris (Randy Sluder); and his grandchildren, Cheyenne Onishi, Nick, Cherydan Onishi Bywater, Kai Sluder and Kameron Sluder. He is also survived by nieces, and nephews.
