He was predeceased by: his parents, Warren Van Hook, Sr. and Mary Genevive Van Hook; his brothers, Col. Warren B. Van Hook, Richard P. Van Hook and Edward H. Van Hook; his former wives, Arlene Seedorf and Inez Taylor; and his stepdaughters, Deborah and Jacqueline.
He is survived by: his children, Richard, Alison, Julia, Brian, Dale and Dorothea; and his stepdaughters, Susan and Theresa. He is also survived by his six children, two stepchildren, 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
