She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Steele and Mae Ellis Wright; her husband Max Carey; her daughter Flora; and her granddaughters, Jennifer Lynne Carey, Melanie Ann Carey and Micah Nicole Story.
She is survived by: her children, Richard Edward (Patricia), Douglas Carey (Penny) and Catherine Story (Curtis); and her sister Marie Williams. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
