We announce the death of Gerald Arden Waters (Pocatello, Idaho), who passed away on September 8, 2026, at the age of 78. Gerald will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Gerald will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Gerald will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture his life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Gerald’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Waters and Melba Waters; his siblings, Brent Waters (Barbara), Neil Waters and Valarie Jones (Danny); his daughter Diana Waters; and his grandson Michael.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Barnhart; his son Michael Waters; his stepdaughters, Angela Brown (Richard) and Melanie Hunter (Lynn); and his brothers, Gene Waters (Judy) and Don Thorpe. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Mountain View Cemetery (1520 S 5th Ave, Pocatello, ID 83201).
