Mark J. Rote wrote a sympathy message

“Our sincere condolences to the whole simpson family during this sad and difficult time. Especially to his wife Nell and his children. John was a wonderful neighbor for many years in Thousand Oaks, CA in the '60s and '70s. He was a renaissance man with many different interests and skills. He also embraced life with humor and confidence. Rest in peace now Mr. Simpson. -- From the whole Rote family.”
