He was predeceased by : his parents, Doug Phillips and Cora Phillips; his wife Joan Nielson; and his siblings, Myrna Bailey and Clair D Phillips.

He is survived by : his children, Todd Phillips (Kris) of Elk Ridge, UT, Lisa Peterson of Sacramento, CA and Shelli Kime (Greg) of Portland, OR. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; and six brothers.
