He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth Irene Thompson (Wahus) and Truman Thompson; and his sister Ramona Niblock. He is survived by: his wife Gail Thompson; his children, Michelle Winn (Ken), Jackie Fox (Joseph), Chris Thompson (Kari), Nikki Thorneycroft and Carl Thompson (Katie); his siblings, Clarice Phillipi, Roy Thompson (Barb) and Marlys Blagden; his grandchildren, Tausha Hunter (Matthew), Jonathan Fox (Brittany), Jacob Fox (Ryley), Kenneth Winn, Jessica Fox, Denver Winn, Samantha Williamson, Jeremy Fox (Larissa), Shawn Thompson (Alaysia), Quinn Thorneycroft (Kensie), Julianna Saltus, Rachael Bereta (Dustin), Haily Ayala (Jesus), Elijah Thorneycroft, Annika Thompson, Jeri Thorneycroft, Christopher Thompson, Adam Winn and Noah Winn (Amara); and his great grandchildren, Kenneth, Ella, Elissa, Melchizedek, Karsen, Kilian, Milo, Ava, Adrian, Rosalind, Xander, Acheron, Johnny, Jack, Maisey, David, Daniel, Violet, Emmaline, Juniper, Hazel, Rowan and Julian.
