He was predeceased by: his wife Kathryn Grant; and his parents, Harry Harold Townsend and Elana Ethel Nelson Townsend. He is survived by: his stepson Neal Edward Smith of Texas; and his sisters, Shirley Anderson (Kent) of Lorenzo, ID, Rosalie Williams of Henderson, NC and Gloria Hugelon of Washington.
